If you’re like me you may take a trip to the farmer’s market, peruse around, pick up a few bright and fresh vegetables, but then come home a in need of inspiration for just the right recipe to use them in. I find it hard to just come up with something average for a perfectly ripe bounty that I just hauled in so I usually make something light and fresh with it, something that will make the flavors of the fresh produce shine. Here are a few of my favorite farmer’s market meals and recipes. Please do share your ideas with me in the comments!
Sorrel and Yukon Gold Potato Soup (pictured above)
Roasted Beet and Hazelnut Salad
Zucchini Noodle Salad with Spicy Peanut Sauce
Chicken and Peach Curry over Rice
Polenta with Sausage, Chard and Oyster Mushrooms or Baked Eggs Over Polenta and Chard
Pasta with Sausage, Zucchini and Onions
For me its all about the tomatoes! I’m not nearly as adventurous as you (sorrel) so I better break out of my shell. Great list lovely. Have a great weekend with your boys.
oh you must try sorrel Heidi!!! You would love it. I totally disagree, I think you and I enjoy similar flavors 🙂
This is such a great roundup and a reminder of some of your recipes I’d like to try!
I actually just posted a recipe today using local spinach and a bread I purchased at the Provo Farmers Market.

This year I really want to focus on trying one new item each week at the farmers market, including meat!
Happy Friday, friend!
I especially love the Zucchini Noodle Salad. I’m hoping to make it to the market soon.
Yes, you must come to the downtown Farmer’s Market at least once a summer! I’ll meet you there!
That tomato tart looks amazing!
The roasted beet salad and tomato tart look amazing. I love going to the farmers market each week. It is such good people + dog watching.
I love the dog watching too! Hopefully, now you’ll have some new recipe ideas for your next farmers market visit!
