I know, I know, I slacked on my job and didn’t put out a seasonal produce guide for January but I promise I have a good excuse. A few other blogger friends and I are now teaming up to become a much larger resource for you to eat well through the seasons. And now, Josh will be illustrating the desktop and iPhone images for each month (I’m a lucky gal with a multi talented, coffee roasting, illustrating, guitar playing valentine)!
Here’s the full scoop: Every month, you’ll have a new Seasonal Produce Guide List to save to your desktop computer and iPhone. Feel free to share away on instagram and pinterest as well – the more enthusiasm to eat seasonally, the better we’ll all be, right?! Also, visit these fabulous blogs for seasonal recipes every month.
Aimee from Simple Bites
Kelsey from Happyolks
Molly from My Name is Yeh
Lindsay from Cafe Johnsonia
Kathryne from Cookie and Kate
Lauren from Lauren’s Latest
Lauren from Climbing Grier Mountain
And my favorite part… If you’re eating in season, with one of the food items on the list, instagram it using #eatseasonal and I’ll be reposting seasonal grams every Monday! I literally can hardly wait to see what everyone else is eating and to be inspired by what you create with seasonal ingredients!
Here’s a photo to save to your iPhone and the photo on top is sized for your desktop computer screen saver. I hope these are a friendly reminder to you (as they are for me) to eat what’s fresh every month!
Seriously….I just picked about 15 lemons off our greenhouse tree. 🙂
That is just enchanting that you have a greenhouse lemon tree!!!
This is so lovely, Becky. Thanks for taking this initiative and getting our series off the ground. I’m feeling inspired already.
I’m so grateful to have several other folks to join forces with! It will be inspiring to collaborate together!
I definitely just set this photo as my background! I was taught to eat seasonal by my mother, and now I don’t see any other way of eating. I can’t wait to see the seasonal recipes!
Shelley, that’s so lovely that your mother taught you to eat what’s in season. It’s definitely something that older generations did without even thinking about it – it was just the way of life for most. I hope to bring a little piece of that mentality back 🙂
Thanks so much for the info! I never know what is in season during this time of year. I am craving grapefruit now 🙂
I can’t get enough Grapefruit right now either! I have a fun recipe on here for Maple Bruleed Grapefruit that you must try!! Thanks for stopping by the blog Katie!
I am so excited for this series!! Thanks for including me:)
glad to have you 🙂
Nice! This idea its very nice. I am living in Seattle now, but I am from other county. So follow the harvest of the month bring some new ideas for cooking for my family.
Enjoy Dulce!! Glad you found the blog!
Ya know, I did find myself looking for January’s produce guide – I always loved your photos, Becky. But I love this illustration, too! You and your hubby are a talented duo. Looking forward to following along in this #eatseasonal series! =)
Lillian, that’s encouraging that you missed January’s guide 🙂 Glad your following along! And I’ll pass on to Josh that you like his illustration!!
I love your seasonal list! Thank you! And I love the artwork too. So beautiful!
Thanks so much Melissa! The artwork is all from my husband 🙂
Love this! Made roasted brussel sprouts tossed with garlic, olive oil, salt & pepper with cooked gnocchi, parmesan cheese & some lemon zest. I think the whole meal cost $4.00 to feed 4 people!
LOVE IT!! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas Lori! Keep them coming!!
