February Seasonal Produce Guide

I make lots of mistakes. LOTS.  Maybe more than the average person.  For instance, I’ve been using the graphic image above for going on two years now, yet someone just pointed out to me how terribly I spelled tangerines!  I know this was my fault.  I gave the text to my designer and he probably just copied the list without thinking of checking my awesome spelling. Anyways, I hope to encourage you today that perfection is certainly not expected here, not when you’re my friend, online or off. And even though I try my best to be professional and minimize mistakes on here since it is my job and source of income, I will make mistakes every once in a while. Thanks for your grace in my silly mistakes and I hope you still save the image to your computer and just get a good laugh overtime you read… TANGERIENS (I imagine them to be like alien oranges).   Also, feel free to correct me of any mistakes I make. This keeps me humble and also encourages me in our friendships because a good friend always tells you the truth!

Now, as far as February foods goes, it’s much like January. I should probably add chocolate to the list though since the little holiday that jumps up in the middle of the month definitely requires it.   So just in case your planning your Valentine’s dessert treat, I’ll add some chocolate-y things to the bottom of the recipe list as well.  Have a tasty month!

  1. I can’t get enough orange juice these days, especially since I came down with a cold late last week. I guess after all the hubbub with ALT, it finally caught up with me! What a delicious round up – thank you so much for including me!

  2. Lentils are also commonly used in Ethiopia in a stew-like dish called kik, or kik wot, one of the dishes people eat with Ethiopia’s national food, injera flat bread. Yellow lentils are used to make a nonspicy stew, which is one of the first solid foods Ethiopian women feed their babies…-‘:
