Snow Day Food

Written by Becky

Why do we forget every year that Salt Lake is known for its Spring snow? Last night the valley got pounded with fresh snow. After being rescued by some friends late in the evening, I left my car stranded in a parking lot and went home to some hot cocoa. Luckily, we have two cars so we can manage without one until the snow melts a bit.

This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland. I figure if winter keeps lingering I may as well take advantage of it an enjoy more of my favorite winter foods. Here are a few recipes that help get me through the winter.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Oats

  1. Beautiful photo of the snow. It's pretty warm here in California. Some wonderful comforting winter recipes you have here!

  2. I was not ready for that storm at all! I'm glad you were safely rescued from your car, one of my biggest fears is getting stuck in my car in the snow overnight. Sounds too darn cold. Your photograph is stunning, it perfectly captured the fresh snow and the poor trees trying to hold up it's weight.
