What produce is in season in September in Utah

September Seasonal Produce

Written by Becky

We’re officially entering into my favorite time of year in the mountains, fall. When September hits, fresh produce is at its peak in Utah, the mountains begin to change colors from red to orange to bright yellow, and it’s time for college football to begin! I can hardly wait for cooler evenings and leaves to start changing color. There are so many fresh foods at the farmer’s market this time of year that I get overjoyed by what my options are for cooking seasonally. I have a great list of recipes below that would be perfect for a football party like, Grilled and Stuffed Tomatoes or Beer Marinated Flank Steak with Peach and Tomato Salsa. This is also the perfect time to start canning all of this fresh produce that you’ve grown in your garden and start making pestotomato sauce and jam to enjoy all winter long.

Here are some recipes using the seasonal produce for September.
