Seasonal Recipes for June

Written by Becky

According to many of my blogging friends, June is STRAWBERRY season. Yes, many other fruits and veggies come alive this month but strawberries are what really have our attention.  And when they’re ripe, they are not tart, or bland like the ones you randomly find in grocery stores mid-winter, but they are puckering-ly sweet and a shade of vibrant red (like the ones in Annalise’s photo above). The strawberries in my garden hardly make their way up the three stairs and into the house. Everett and I have found ourselves on several occasions, squatting and picking, straight garden-to-mouth style. His fingers and mouth covered in strawberry juices and his face with a crazy grin like he’s getting away with something wonderful!

If you’re strawberries, garden fresh or from the market, last more than a few minutes, try some of these mouth watering berry recipes:

  1. Strawberries really are the best of what’s around right now. The perfect summer dinner for me would be your tzatziki chicken salad finished off with Annalise’s roasted strawberry frozen yogurt.

    YUM!

Thanks for the fun time again. I love the #eatseasonal campaign.
