Though I’ve been busy, and sluggish in my efforts, I’m still reaping benefits of early summer crops. Alleluia! Amidst the weeds, strawberries, a crop everyone should plant because of it’s ease of maintenance, are popping up everywhere. We picked our first juicy red bite just the other day. And herbs too… several herbs from past efforts came back with sprite this year. If the strawberries ever make it past our back door we’ll be making Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and I can’t imagine a summer picnic without picking herbs for my favorite Chicken Salad.

My favorite month of the year! Because: strawberries. 🙂
YES!! We love strawberry season! We have a little patch in our backyard that we frequent daily now.
Just got some blueberries from the farmer’s market and they are absolute perfection! Are figs in season yet? I saw somewhere that they are but fig season confuses me…
That’s a great question. I thought they were end of summer. I’ll look into it.
Abby, I think figs are in season now! Maybe from California.
Hi Becky,
Does this background come in a size larger than 1024×576? It’s too small for my desktop and I’m having trouble finding the larger version like what you’ve posted for past months.
Thanks a bunch!,
Ashley
I’m so glad you said something Ashley!! I think I got it fixed! Thanks
I love this!! Just found out about your seasonal produce guide. I’d love to join the fun sometime 🙂
Just has the first arugula from our container garden tonight. After my lazy container gardening method of just tossing some seeds in a pot and hoping that good things come out of it. Excited to try some of the arugula recipes.
love it when that happens! Radishes are that way for me. I should try arugula soon!
