I feel like I edit these seasonal produce guides a little bit every year… adding and deleting a few from the list as I learn more about what’s ripe and fresh. I learn from my own garden, from availability at the farmer’s markets, and from seasonal restaurant offerings. So feel free to adapt your lists as you learn whats in season from your native areas.
Right now my garden is showing lots of signs of life. My rhubarb is ready for harvest and even flowering at the tips. Strawberries are appearing here and there (which Everett loves!). Herbs are thriving, and all of my vegetable and lettuce seeds are starting to peer out from the soil. It’s going to be a tasty summer!
Since we’re entering into the best time of harvest. Here’s a great list from Alice Waters on living simply and yet generously:
Eat locally & sustainably
Eat seasonally
Shop at farmers’ markets
Plant a garden
Conserve, compost & recycle

I’m so excited for June! We live for local strawberries and asparagus and are counting down the days until they show up.
I am getting so excited for the farmers market on Sat.! Thanks for this list – helpful and beautiful. I have the graphic saved on my phone to help me make savvy choices at the grocery store.
Thanks you 🙂 Josh is the one who illustrates these! It makes my heart happy to hear they are being used!
