Though this salad screams more, today I’m talking about the opposite – less.
I don’t know about all of you but I’m not quite over the holidays. It went by too fast. I didn’t get to embrace it as much as I hoped.. not enough hot cocoa and marshmallows, too many movies I didn’t get to watch, my favorite holiday foods (like these pralines) I didn’t have time to prepare. So, I’m in denial a bit… still staying up too late, keeping my pajamas on way past morning time, and not quite on the healthy eating bandwagon yet (though this salad did help me!). It’s already January 7th and I don’t have a blog post up or my seasonal guide (so sorry about that!)
One thing I have moved on towards is how I want my 2015 to look. I’ve been day dreaming and putting off sleep and work, thinking about this next year. No concrete resolutions but a word to guide me – Simplicity. I would love for more life to be more simple – less work and more play, less time on social media and more time being present with those around me, giving away and getting rid of the things I don’t use or wear, and even being simple in the way I try and connect with God.
I can tend to over complicate things… over-do and over-commit. So this year, I hope to do less and instead be more. I want to be more to my family and friends, be more present and available, and be more worshipful and attentive to God’s love and care.
So my word for 2015 in Simplicity! Less is More. Less is the new black.
