I can’t help but think of what things were like for us around this time last year. I was a month out, awaiting our sweet boy, and every new bloom in the yard or garden just meant he was getting closer. Spring will forever remind me of those waiting days and all of the anticipation to becoming a mom for the first time. Now, I’m excited for Everett to enjoy all that spring has to offer, the strawberries that will start budding in our back yard soon, crunchy fresh asparagus, and all things green, from the new grass he’ll take his first steps on to the avocados and artichokes in season. I wonder what he’ll like and what he’ll refuse by spitting it right back out with a smirk on his face. Every season is still so new and fresh.
This month I’ll be looking for seasonal recipe inspiration from these gals and many more of you who choose to share your seasonal recipes online! Please join in the fun and tag your instagrams with #eatseasonal.

I noticed that there is not a Seasonal Produce Guide for January 2014. I really like the illustrated pictures, but I can only find the 2013 and 2012 ones with the high res photos. Is there an illustrated January guide?
Sadly, we got a late start this year! Sorry there is a gap for January!
This might be my favorite illustration yet!
I’m hoping to try cooking with nettles, fava beans dandelion greens for the first time. 🙂
And my husband and I already have plans for a rhubarb pie.
All of that sounds fabulous. I’ve been wanting to try nettles too! I have a fun lava bean risotto from last year if you need an idea 🙂
I love this Eat Seasonal campaign – I have an artichoke recipe coming up this week that totally fits the bill! ADORE! I’m gonna keep this list handy, too 🙂
I, sadly, don’t have instagram, but I love the idea of seasonal eating and have been posting a bunch of seasonal recipes on my page too!
Please feel free to share your seasonal foods on other social media outlets using #eatseasonal and leave links on the comments of my blog or on my Facebook! looking forward to seeing your ideas!
