The Stars Align
Besides making the perfect sauce with my favorite website, this holiday season has been filled with so many perfect moments. We’ve been waiting all year for our book to come out and it finally has! We had our first book signing last week and celebrated with friends the following evening. Just weeks prior to this we opened up a coffee shop. While our coffee company, Charming Beard, has been selling single origin beans for a few years now, we found just the perfect time and perfect partners to open up a shop.
The book we wrote is about the Salt Lake City dining scene. You can read the full story behind the book on theSLCfoodie.com but it’s basically stories of local chefs and their beloved recipes. 60+ restaurants and 80+ recipes! La Barba, our latest venture in the local dining scene, is a small coffee and churros stop in downtown Salt Lake. We share a space with one of our favorite local restaurants, Finca, and partner with them for our pastries and churros. In addition to coffee we serve drinking chocolate, teas, a few sparkling water options. My current order is the Almond Brioche Sticky Bun with a frothy cappuccino, lightly sweetened with our house-made molasses simple syrup, a combo that makes me feel like Christmas morning.
