Vintage Mixer Cooking Class with Raw Melissa and Delightful Delicacies

I’m so excited to tell you that the next Vintage Mixer event is open to the public.  Our first two events were by invite only, which you can read about here and here, but for this event we are opening the doors to the first 25 people to sign up for this special gathering.  On August 13th at a remote location in the Avenues, two of my favorite Utah culinary extraorindaires, Raw Melissa and Jen from Delightful Delicacies, will be enlightening a lucky group of folks on the subject of wholesome summer grilling using fresh produce from Jacob’s Cove Farm.  Here’s the scoop:

A Summer Grilling Class 
August 13, 2011 :: 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m.
class location:  170 East First Avenue
price: $40

the menu:
marinated vegetable kebabs
grilled corn in the husk
grilled pizzas
((pizza margherita // peach, arugula and combozola // roasted root vegetables and smoked gouda))
summer melon and grilled pineapple salad
cashew vanilla ice cream with strawberry tomato dessert sauce

the teachers:
Raw Melissa is a cookbook author, world traveler, and a master of raw food. She believes Living passionately with whole foods in all aspects of your life. Her foods can be found at our local Whole Foods Stores.
Jen Johnson from the popular food blog Delightful Delicacies, cooks up the most colorful seasonal dishes that you’ve ever laid eyes on. From avocado based key lime pie to seasonal squash soup, she has a pulse on what’s fresh and tasty in and around the Salt Lake City area.

  1. Sounds like a great event! Unfortunately I will be camping next weekend and won't be able to attend, otherwise I'd be signing up right now. Looking forward to a recap, and more Vintage Mixer events!
