Seasonal Produce in December

December Seasonal Produce Guide

Written by Becky

Though our seasonal produce list for December is short there are still lots of creative ways to eat deliciously this winter season. Here are a few ideas I’ve found: add sweet potatoes to your pancake batter or baked oatmeal, or sprinkle pomegranates over your breakfast or salad, bake pasta with root vegetables, or throw in some kale to your soup or smoothie. Lots of Utah bloggers are eating seasonally and getting creative in the kitchen.

Here are some local bloggers’ recipes using the seasonal produce for December:

  1. Becky, Thanks for this wonderful compilation of December ideas! Of course, we also love that many of the recipes can be enhanced with our lactose free sour cream, yogurt, and kefir! What a great way to remember that our fresh produce season is still in full-swing! Got my shopping list on my desk as I read through!

  2. Good idea making the wallpaper! I am an advocate of using seasonal produce whenever possible so couldn’t resist this. I have just finished eating a lovely sweet potato and parnsip bake myself which could have featured nicely alongside the other recipes on your list, as well as a chestnut and pumpkin soup with scallops. Long live seasonal ingredients!
