One of the most marvelous things about being married to a musician is getting to travel.  Have I told you how much I love to travel?  I love researching the trip, exploring new cities, the unexpected occurences along the way, finding great food and of course meeting new people.  Something about the adventure just strikes a cord deep in my soul.

We have a few exciting trips soon.  Yesterday we packed our bags journeyed to Colorado for a marriage retreat for which Josh provides music. Then we’ll be back home for a few days.  Enough time to unpack, work a few days, go on a couple of walks with Henry, repack, and head back out the door to a new destination…China.  We’ll be visiting my only sister in Kunming.  I have been there once before (over 6 years ago!), so I’m excited to return and

Before any trip, I anticipate the new experiences and memories, and of course the food! While in Colorado I hope to return to our favorite tamale joint, Dorothy’s Homemade Tamales in Hartsel, Colorado.  Home to the best tamales in Colorado, Dorothy’s is a little cafe in the middle of nowhere. Publicized by the Food Network, she’s been enjoying more tourism to her restaurant ever since.  Dorothy even showed us the clip of her fame while we munched on our Verde Chicken Tamales (which literally melt in your mouth).  As a lover of Mexican food and native Texan I can honestly say these are the best tamales I’ve had thus far.
